Spring meeting of The Slovak Association of Hotels and Restaurants´ members took place in Trnava on 17th and 18th of May 2016. Professional  news, possibilities of cost reduction and also summary of the long-term development were presented at the meeting. During a gala evening was also announced a Hotelier of the year 2015.

 On the first day of the meeting members of the Association dealt with a post of Ivona Meissner, CEO of  Best Western Hotel Central Europe, current technology trends, including efforts to replace human labor by artificial intelligence, which according to participants within field of hotels and restaurants will not be filled. This was followed by a complex assessment of development since 1998, presented by Doc. Malachovsky. Based on economic results during the previous year, top 10 hoteliers were announced during the gala dinner. The winner and the Hotelier of the year 2015 has become Ján Svoboda from Hotel Elisabeth ****, Trenčín.

The next day was mainly dedicated to the topic of profit improvement of hospitality. The importance of access to reviews was presented by Jarka Alenová from pomahamehotelierum.cz. She highlighted Trustyou.com platform as a very effective tool, that searches for all available reviews and cretes real evaluations from them. Another post of the TESLUX company concerned savings resulting from the exchange of incandescent bulbs for LED lighting. Final presentation dealt with the advantages of booking through own website compared to direct bookings or reservations, which lies e.g. in reducing costs for commissions and option of  other products and services offer at the same time.

The meeting was also attended by Kalvín pension, which is one of the divisions of the O.M.C. Invest company. It was represented by Ing. Matej Kožík, CEO of Kalvín pension and project manager of Kalvín Wood, Tomáš Rožič who rated the whole event very positively. They mainly highlighted positive professional news, innovations in approach to clients and friendly attitude towards the environment.
